White Chocolate is an another type of chocolate that contains sugar, milk solids and cocoa butter. It is usually pale yellow in color. White Chocolate does not contain non-fat cocoa solids that is generally the main component of chocolate liquor. The main ingredient of the white chocolate is cocoa butter. Its high melting point helps in keeping the white chocolate in solid form at room temperature.
When a white chocolate is prepared cocoa butter and dark chocolate are not combined. White Chocolate contains only small amounts of stimulating agents. The cocoa butter is deodorized to get rid of its strong flavor. Add Vanilla essence to enhance its taste.
Milk Chocolate contains minimum 10% pure chocolate. It is also composed of cocoa butter and sugar. They contain less amount of pure chocolate as compared to semisweet or bittersweet chocolates. They are for both Baking and Eating Purposes. It has a milder flavor as compared to Dark Chocolates.
Sweet Chocolate contains minimum 15% pure chocolate. It is also made up of cocoa butter and sugar. It is sweeter in comparison to semi-sweet Chocolate.
Semi- Sweet Chocolate does not have more than 50% amount of sugar in it. It is sweeter is comparison to Dark Chocolates or Bitter Sweet chocolates. It is mainly composed of Cocoa Butter, Cocoa Solids, Sugar, Vanilla and an Emulsifier.
Bitter Sweet Chocolate
Bitter Sweet Chocolate contains minimum 35% pure chocolate. It contains very small amount of sugar in it. Bitter Sweet chocolate is also popularly known as Dark Chocolate. It is dark brown in color and tastes less sweet than a semi-sweet chocolate. The taste and color of dark chocolate may vary according to manufacturer’s recipes and cacao bean sources.
Baking Chocolate contains 50-58% cocoa butter. The amount of sugar addedto Baking Chocolates determines whether it is a Sweet, Semi-Sweet or Bitter Chocolate. Baking Chocolate helps in making brownies, cakes, and frosting. The pure form of Baking Chocolate contains no sugar.
