Know All About Different Types Of Cancer
Cancer today is the most widespread and hazardous disease of all, it is not a disease rather a disorder of the cell where they multiply and mutate furiously causing lumps or tumors in the body.
Consumption of Tobacco is the cause of about 25% of cancer deaths. Other causes include obesity, excessive consumption of alcohol, lack of proper diet and less or no physical activity. The incidence of different types of cancer in women may vary from types of cancer in men.
What makes cancer more dangerous is that it is not diagnosed quickly. Though there are many treatments for cancer but none of them cure it permanently. They just slow down the mutation of the cells. These treatments are highly expensive and arduous for the body.
Different Types of Cancer
There are more than 120 plus type of cancers. Some of the tumors are treatable. But most of the cancers are not curable and just slows the growth of tumor cells. The most common types of cancers are as follows:-
This cancer develops from the breast cells and generally starts off in the milk ducts. It is the most common cancer in women worldwide. It comprises of 18% death in cancer around the world.
The most common symptom of breast cancer is thickened tissue in the breast or formation of lump. Other indications are headache, swelling, itching, irritation around nipples or rashes.
There is no definitive cause for breast cancer. Though experts believe that some factors can cause this cancer such as, high alcoholism, obesity, radiation exposure or even cosmetic implants.
This disease is only found in men, the cancer mostly starts in the gland cells. Prostate cancer is a very slow progressive disease, and sometimes men do not even realize they have prostate cancer until it is diagnosed.
It starts with very minute alterations in the shape and size of gland cells which is not possible to see through naked eyes. Some common symptoms of prostate cancer are patient urinates more than usual, blood in the urine, it becomes hard for the patient to ejaculate and maintain an erection for long.
There is again no definitive cause for this disease but the most common causes are genetics, poor diet and sexually transmission.
Lung cancer is the number one cause of cancer deaths in both men and women. it is the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells in lungs mostly in the air passage, they multiply rapidly and form tumors in the lungs.
The prime cause of lung cancer is smoking and consumption of tobacco, though there are other factors as well such as pollution, hierarchy. Some common symptoms of lung cancer are excessive coughing, pain in chest or shoulder, difficulty in breathing or even chronic pneumonia.
As lung cancer spreads it consumes all the body energy and leaves the patient tired all time. Lung cancer can be diagnosed easily through CT scan and chest x-rays.
The treatment for it depends on the stage of the cancer and the patients age. The most effective way is to remove the tumor through surgery.
Also, known as hepatic cancer. The cancer originates from the liver, rather than migrating to the liver. Most common symptoms are jaundice, abdominal pain, weight loss, itching etc. There are plenty of causes for liver cancer such as high alcohol consumption, unprotected sex, using same needles for injecting drugs, diabetes, low immunity and obesity.
